Loker Surakarta – PT Bank Tabungan Negara (Persero) Tbk. or commonly known with the BTN is a limited liability company in the field of banking services provider. This Bank is a State-owned enterprise that Indonesia was first established in 1987. At that time the bank was still named Post Bank located in Batavia. Further activities of the bank freeze Japan and changed its name to Chokin's closest. The Government of Indonesia took it over and changed its name back into a postal savings Bank in accordance with the Emergency Law number 9 of 1950. A few years later in 1963, the bank was again renamed the State Savings Bank or commonly known with the BTN.

After that, the bank switched status to state-owned banks through Act No. 20 of 1964. In 1974, BTN offersa special service called MORTGAGE or mortgages. This service is devoted on the BTN by the Ministry of finance to issue letters on January 29, 1974. This service was first performed on 10 December 1976. Then in 1989 the BTN has also been operating a public bank and began issuing the bond. In 1992 the legal status of the company, the company turned into BTN(Persero).

In addition, two years later in 1994, the BTN has apermit as a foreign exchange Bank. Advantages of the BTN is seen in 2002 who place BTN as a public bank with a focus on loan without subsidies for housing.This is evidenced by the appearance of the letter from the Minister of State-owned enterprises (SOEs) on 21August 2002.

In 2003 the BTN do corporate restructuring. Corporate restructuring is done thoroughly and costs have beeninscribed in the approval letter of the Minister of STATE-OWNED ENTERPRISES based on CPR on 31 March 2003 and the Ordinance of the Board of Directors Bank BTN on 3 December 2004. Do not stop until there, in 2008 BTN also has been conducting collective investment Contract transactions registration of asset-backed securities (KIK Eba) at Bapepam. BTN Bank is the first bank in Indonesia to successfully do so. Later in 2009, the inaugural recording and performing BTN listings transactions in Indonesia stock exchange. With the vision "to be the leading bank in financing housing" Bank BTN in facthas become one of the leading banks in Indonesia.
